Col Timothy E. Frank, USMC

COLONEL TIMOTHY E. FRANK

UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS

Since May 2005, Colonel (Col) Timothy E. Frank has served as Senior Marine Corps Liaison Officer in the Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Seamless Transition, and most recently in the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Office of Care Management and Social Work in Washington, DC. As part of the Marine Corps’ Wounded Warrior Regiment, Col Frank, through ongoing collaborative efforts with the Department of Defense, the Marine Corps, and the VA, supports and advocates for wounded, ill, and injured Marines and their families throughout the phases of recovery, transition to veterans status, and reintegration back home. She has been instrumental in optimizing VA support and outreach to both Marine Forces Reserve and the Marine Corps Mobilization Command (MOBCOM). Through coordination with the VHA Outreach Office, VA’s demobilization initiative is now included in the Return Integration Location (RILOC) process for returning Selected Marine Corps Reserve units. A modified version of this initiative is also being provided at monthly Individual Ready Reserve (IRR) musters. Working collaboratively with MOBCOM, Col Frank coordinated comprehensive VA support for mega-musters held in major metropolitan areas, which included benefits education, assistance with applications for both benefits and healthcare, and on-site readjustment counseling services through the local VA Vet Center. Through her efforts and an enhanced MOBCOM-VA partnership, select IRR musters are now being conducted each year at VA Medical Centers in conjunction with their annual OEF-OIF Welcome Home celebrations. Col Frank is the recipient of numerous military awards.
