Amber Bakeman, MA

Amber Bakeman, M.A.
Research Consultant

Ms. Amber Bakeman has provided research assistance to the Recovering Warrior Task Force research team since November of 2011. She has 12 years of experience providing direct mental health services to various populations. Her clinical experience includes work with adolescents, inmates, families, veterans and service members. Previously, Ms. Bakeman provided support to the DoD’s Defense Centers of Excellence (DCoE) for Psychological Health and Traumatic Brain Injury. Ms. Bakeman has also worked in support of the Washington Headquarters Services, Executive Services Directorate, as a management analyst. In this position, she conducted research relating to agency guidance and policy. More recently, Ms. Bakeman served with AmeriCorps in Minneapolis, MN, supporting the Hennepin County Veterans Court. In this role she provided mental health counseling services, probation support and training to probation staff on post deployment issues. In addition to her role as a Research Consultant, Ms. Bakeman currently works directly with the wounded, ill and injured Marines at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center as a Recovery Care Coordinator.

Ms. Bakeman holds a M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University and a B.A. in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
